Leaving for our village visit

So I got up early today to get all of my stuff packed and then to go weigh my suitcase.  I was worried that it would be too heavy and it was so I had to take a few things out but I will get them into the other suitcase I am sure.  I hope.  So Laura and I left for the airport with Luke at 8:25 and then once we got to the airport and checked in and changed my name.  They had me listed as Kim Braley.  They sent us to Levelock first before we went to King Salmon.  The air strip that we landed on was a gravel one and the people that got off of the airplane that was only 8 seats including the two pilots got on ATV's and went home.  Small village Alaska!  Then we went on to King Salmon.  This is actually a larger airport than Dillingham and that is because there are so many tourists that fly in and out of King Salmon.

Then we had Roland the health aid at King Salmon pick us up at the airport.  We went to the clinic and did our clinic checks.  We had to check outdated medications, the controlled substance log and just talk to the health aids.   Roland was nice but we did get yelled at about the clinics not receiving drugs on time.  But that whole system is kinda screwed up.  Then we had Roland drive us to Naknek.  It was about 15 miles down the road.  He gave us the "grand tour" it took about a minute or so.  He dropped us of at Al and Lou's B&B.  They put us in the trailer.  Yeah you heard me right a trailer.  It was a 70's style trailer.  Kinda funny but hey it worked.  Then Laura and I walked to D&D's restaurant and had lunch.  We were starving and needed to escape the rain.  It was good, I had a French dip.  Then we walked back to the B&B and called the Naknek clinic to come and pick us up so that we could check their clinic.

The Naknek clinic was the best that we saw.  It was the neatest and the cleanest.  Caroline was very nice but did complain about us as well.  So I was kinda getting used to this.  We chatted for a while and then got a ride to the Cami clinic.  We just wanted to kinda see the operation and meet the people there.  We were also trying to set up appointments for tomorrow so that we could do pill counts for a couple of people.  This was a challenge but we did it.  Then we went back to the B&B and took a nap.  We woke up at about 8 and went to get something to eat.  We went to The Red Dog Inn.  Laura and I ate dinner there.  I had a cheeseburger.  It was good.  Then we were about to have an Alaskan Amber but they were all out.  So we decided to go to a bar that had the amber.

We went to the fisherman's inn and they had Alaskan Amber.  Which was a good thing.  Laura and I sat down and had a beer and then we played some pool.  Well I tried to play pool.  It was not the prettiest sight.  Then the waiter from the other bar and one of the customers from the other bar walked in.  coincidence I think not!  So we played pool with them for a while.  Then another two guys walked in and we ended up playing pool with them too.  Laura and I didn't get home until late but we had fun.

Signing off!
